My yearly post

There is too much technology to keep up with these days.

The last year has been great for all of us.

Zachary turned 9, learned how to ride a bike, played baseball and all-star baseball and then started his first season of football. We are now in traveling basketball. He has been named as talented and gifted in 3 out of 4 subjects in school. His teachers say that he continues to amaze them every day; we agree.

Benjamin is 3 years old and has started preschool. He tries to be just like his big brother. He knows all of his shapes and colors and is attempting to learn to write his letters and numbers. Ben is 100% lefty, so us teaching him how to write has been difficult as we both are right handed. It is no secret that Ben controls what Ben does and what the rest of us do. He has the temper of a teenager. He is afraid of nothing, nothing at all.

We moved over the summer on the same weekend we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. It was a last minute decision but one that turned out to be so good for us. We have been settled for 4 months now and I finally feel like I have a house that I can call home.

I am still plugging away at school. It's been a long hard journey and I hope to have it completed in the next 2 years (praying). In January I decided I was done with being the fat mom so I went on a diet and I lost 65 lbs. I've gained back 9 lbs since August (argh!!), but I'm getting back on track. Mike and I have joined a weight loss team with three other friends that starts in January. It's a 10 week program where we have weekly weigh-ins and compete for total weight loss percentages. I will need to lay off of the holiday libations and cookies (haha).

My brother got married in April and in September I found out that I'm going to be an Aunt! My niece or nephew should arrive late May of 2012!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! (if there are still bloggers out there)

Long time no see...

12/27/2010 - this year has gone by way to fast. It seems like that's how I've started my last few blog posts. But really, I feel so bad for neglecting my blog. This was intended to be my little journal for my kids and family. It's not working since I've only been here twice since 2009.

The boys are really big and amzae me more each day. Benjamin is 2 1/2 now and acts like he's Zachary's age (8 years old). He has bruises all over his legs because he jumps, falls, and trips over everything. There are more days than not that the little booger is in trouble for doing something. He's our rough kid who dances to the beat of his own drum and refuses to follow anyone elses's beat. He adores and looks up to his big brother Zachary. Watching the two of them play together always puts a smile on my face. I love my boys!!

Zachary is in 2nd grade now. He started a different elementary school this year and I really think the change was for the best. He fits in really well and is doing a great job. He still loves baseball, and will be starting basketball in a few weeks. His new school had Cub Scouts also so he joined and Mike is his Wolf Den Leader. Zachary has excelled in reading and math, he is so smart! I couldn't ask for a better child, I adore each moment I get to spend with him!

I'm at work and was feeling guilty that I haven't posted for a while. I will make it a resolution for 2011 to do better.

Way too long...

It's been almost a year since I've posted here. I don't want to do away with this site because it has many memories, but I just haven't been able to keep up with it. I'm sorry. I seriously doubt there is anyone reading this anymore, just because I let everyone down by my lack of posting.

The boys are getting really big. Zachary is going into 2nd grade and in the process of switching schools. Benjamin is 2 and acts like he's 13, he's really knows how to test us.

I'm still in school and Mike is still working at the restaurant. Our newest goal is to get the house cleaned up and do the little fixer-uppers so we can put it up for sale sooner than later. We want to move closer to our parents and to the school district we are hoping to enroll Zachary into this fall.

I'll try to pop back by before the next 9 months fly by.

I'm really considering signing up.

I'm way over weight - need to be healthy and full of energy for my boys.

Happy Birthday Zachary!

October 1 is Zachary's 7th birthday. SEVEN! I can't believe my first born is seven. I can still tell you about every minute of the day he was born.

I love you Zachary Allen, you have brought so much joy to my life. You will always be mommy's special boy. You mean more to me than words can describe.

I have so much catching up to do. Let's see if I can put the last 2 months into a few bullet points:

  • I started a new position, still at the university I work for but in a different department. I love it.
  • Mike started coaching again, his team has won 3 games and he's 1/2 way through his season.
  • Ben is all over the place walking and getting into EVERYTHING. He's growing up really fast and saying all kinds of words. More, juice, milk, dog, cat, bub, Zach, Mom, Dad, yes, no, up, this, go, car, truck and many more.
  • Zachary started 1st grade.
  • On Labor Day weekend Zachary broke his arm. He had a cast from his shoulder to his fingers and just got it off yesterday (9/29). The break was through his growth plate so we have to go back in a few weeks to get it x-ray again and then again in 6 months to check to make sure it didn't cause permanent damage to his growth plate.
  • I started classes again this quarter. If I continue to go at this rate I should graduate in 3 years. So, I'll be graduating 15 years after I originally started college. That's a LONG time but I'm going to get it done!
I promise to take more time and post a few pictures soon! Good night.

WALKING

Yep...guess who is WALKING! :-)

Tonight has been rather fun chasing after little Benny man toddling all over the place.
