My best friend is leaving....

I am in such a bad mood today. Not because she wants to but because she is basically being forced out due to reorganization my best friend but in her two weeks notice today at work. We have a small office of only 4 people. I have been an emotional wreck all day. It's not fair and I blame the ones in charge for making a stupid decision with the reorganization. It's not going to work out properly and it's going to end up screwing everyone up I just know it.

I am stuck with 10 weeks before D- Day training a new admin ast and praying he/she catches on quickly and then finding my temp replacement for this summer and praying he/she knows what the hell she is doing because I am scared shitless coming back to work after 6-8 weeks and everything is screwed up. I am the only seasoned employee left and when I'm gone this summer I am entrusting 2 virgins to run our offices. I am stressing out and cry every time I look at my boss or co-worker. It's not fair.

I have warned everyone that I am going to be a bear to work with - they have only me to depend on and they do so way too much. They can do their own work and not ask me to do little shit that they can do on their own. They need to take on their own responsibilities because I can't deal with it all.

I guess I am just rambling and bitching. I'm hormonal and feel like I could go postal any moment - I am just joking but if I could punch someone it would make me feel much better. Well maybe just a cherry slushie and a Hershey's bar would do.

I hate this place right now and I am basically stuck - I can't find work being in my third trimester and almost ready to pop! Plus I can't afford to lose my maternity pay (which is only 2 weeks of paid leave and then 2 weeks of my vacation and then 1 week of my sick pay which equals 5 weeks paid).

I'm done bitching - until another day.

Oh, by the way - the baby and I are doing great. I feel great and he is busy practicing his goals! :-D

I passed!

I went in for the first of my third trimester appointments today. I started out in the u/s room measuring the little man. He weighs just under 3lbs and is approx 15 inches long. He was being very stubborn and wouldn't let us see his face. He had one arm above his head and the other hand on his face the entire time. We tried numerous tricks, tickling him with a vibrating toothbrush (weird but the technician had one she said she uses for stubborn babies) I stood up danced around, laid on my left and right side but he didn't want to budge. He kicked and punched me plenty of times, but refused to move out of his sleeping position. I even drank a large glass of orange juice before I left the house. He is already face down with his back side on the the right side of my belly. He's measuring at almost 30 weeks which is a nearly 2wks ahead of schedule. Zachary always measured big, so that's good.

Also during the u/s (and after Mike and Zachary left) she used the dildo cam to check my cervix. I went into preterm labor with Zachary at 32 weeks so they wanted to start checking me early this time. My cervix hasn't changed a bit, it's very thick and there are no signs of possible preterm labor in the future. She even had me bear down to see if there were any changes, nothing. This is good since I want to work up until a few days before I deliver!

After my u/s I met with Dr. Clark, very quick appointment. The best news is I passed my glucose test! Yippee! I don't have to worry about gestational diabetes. I talked to him about my legs swelling, my right swells much larger than my left. My blood pressure was 122 over 76 which is great and I don't have any protein in my urine which if I had high BP and protein in my urine they would treat me for preeclampsia. I only have to worry about edema and lots of swelling and being uncomfortable for the next few weeks.

We discussed the scheduled ultrasound and he said anytime after July 11th. I told him as long as prior to the 11th the little guy was growing and on track we would like to go for that date. And if not then we would push it back until the middle / end of the week after. He agreed and said we would have an ultrasound the week of the 11th and discuss then if that day is good or if we should hold back a few days. I want to be able to let him cook for as long as needed especially since he's going to be a c-section baby and most c-section babies have respiratory problems after birth due to the fluids not being forced out as they would during vaginal birth.

My next appointment is scheduled for May 20th.

Just a quick update

I did my 4 hr glucose testing on Saturday. I'm GLAD it's over and I pray I don't have to do it again. I was able to finish a good book while I was at the lab and I made friends with an older couple who arrived the same time I did for their yearly 2 hour testing. Sweet couple and I loved chatting with them.

We started our house renovations, I didn't think to take before pictures but I will have during and after pictures to post eventually. I also want to get a new belly shot because it's very obvious!

My little man is moving all over the place and is punching and kicking the hell out of me when it's time to eat. He is my lunch, breakfast and dinner alarm clock.

I go back to the doctor this Thursday for an ultrasound and a check up. This is my last monthly appointment after this I will be going every 2 weeks and then the final month once a week. I can't believe it's here - the final stretch!!!

I'll leave you with this wonderful article I found on web md.

***EDIT*** I had the entire article posted here but then I realized how LONG it was so I removed it. It is a good article and if you want to read it you can click on the link above.

Failed

I failed my 1 hr glucose test last weekend. I failed by 10 pts. I guess I should have studied harder. I fasted, the last bite to eat I had was at 8:00 p.m. the night before and I only drank a small glass of water before I went in that morning.

I have to do a 4 hr test this Saturday so my doctor can have the results before my April 24th appointment. I think I'll have an earlier dinner this Friday night and stay clear of anything that might tip the results not in my favor!

Damn! I pray I pass the big test because I really don't want to be diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes!

Damn!

Damn!

Damn!

Just some interesting information...

Just some interesting information as I prepare to head into my third trimester...geesh! I can't believe it's almost here. I've added some little footnotes after some of the bullet points based on my experiences. :-D

Third Trimester Experiences

by Lisa Rodriguez, R.N. and Marjorie Greenfield, M.D.

The third trimester is usually considered to start at 27 weeks' gestation. You are getting down to the wire and preparing for the new addition to your family. You may be feeling many different emotions during this time. You may be very excited to meet your new son or daughter. You may be worried about whether your baby will be healthy. You also may be apprehensive about labor and delivery. In addition to these changing emotions, physical changes continue in the third trimester:

  • You will continue to feel fetal activity. You may now feel distinct parts of the baby moving. You may notice a rolling across your abdomen as the baby shifts his position. - This little guy is going to be a soccer player. I never felt kicks this hard when pregnant with Zachary. I can put a book or remote on my belly and when he kicks the remote or book falls off!!!!

  • You may need to urinate often, just as you did during your first trimester. As the baby grows larger, there's less room in your abdominal cavity for your bladder. You may also lose urine when you sneeze or cough. This is called stress urinary incontinence or SUI and is common in the last trimester. - I've thought about just wearing Depends and changing my own diaper a few times a day. - JUST JOKING!!!

  • You may notice it is harder to catch your breath. As the baby grows larger, expanding towards your rib cage, there's less room for your lungs to move when you breathe. - I pant, I don't breathe. Mike made fun of me the other day because I bent down to get a pan out of the cabinet and when I stood back up I was almost gasping for air. I think my lungs have shrunk to the size of skittles.

  • You may notice that you are more fatigued at the end of the day, just as you were during the first trimester. - I am zonked out no later than 9:30 every night. Most of the time I fall asleep in the recliner (my new seat so I can prop my watermelon sized ankles up at the end of the day) before 8pm.

  • Your belly button may go from an innie to an outtie. - Nope, it's flat and ugly.

  • You may have Braxton-Hicks contractions.- None yet, thank goodness! I never experienced them with Zachary so I am hoping I don't with this one either.

  • Your breasts may begin to leak colostrum, the first milk, which is yellowish in color. - Already wearing boobie pads. In a few more weeks if someone pisses me off I am sure I'd be able to squirt them in the damn eye!!!

  • You may notice that the whitish vaginal discharge increases and becomes thicker. - Nope, nothing here either

  • You may continue to be constipated. - DRINK TONS OF WATER!!!

  • You might continue to experience heartburn. - YES, At times I think I am a fire breathing dragon!!!

  • You may continue to become dizzy or faint. - This happens only when I stand up too quickly.

  • You may continue to have nasal congestion. - I think the pregnant nose also holds a mucus plug. From day to day, it's either runny or it's dry and I have a bloody nose. My nose can't seem to make up it's mind.

  • You might have a backache from carrying the extra weight of your baby. - My back is out of place. You can hear it pop in and out of place when I walk or when I pull my knee up to my chest and then straighten my leg. I'm seeing a prenatal OMM specialist to help my back become stronger before I deliver.

  • You may have leg and feet cramps. - It's hard to see my feet but when I do they are swollen and ohhhhh so attractive!

  • If you have varicose veins or hemorrhoids, they may become worse. Phew, another category I can't say I have the privilege of knowing anything about.

  • You may have swelling in your face, hands, ankles, and feet. - You know the girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Violet, who swells up the size of a giant blueberry. That's ME!!!!!

  • You may suffer from insomnia. - The past week I can't sleep very well at night. I have no problems falling asleep but can't seem to stay asleep. Last night I was up at 3:30 and didn't go back to sleep until 5:30 when I should have been getting up for work. I even turned on the TV and scanned through infomercials.

  • As the pregnancy comes to an end, you may have a burst of energy and find yourself buying and preparing things for the baby at a fever pitch-commonly known as nesting. - I'm dying to start nesting, but I cant' until we are done with the house renovations. HURRY UP!!!!

  • Towards the end of the pregnancy, your cervix may begin to thin out, which is known as effacement. It also may start to open, which is called dilation. - Not yet, he's still cooking away with no signs of being done soon.

  • You may feel more vaginal pressure. - Not yet, just bladder pressure when I stand up or when I walk a lot.
While the third trimester can be one of the more uncomfortable periods of pregnancy, it is also one of the most exciting. If you are getting frustrated with your aches and pains, as well as the changes in your shape, keep in mind that you are accomplishing an amazing feat--you are growing a whole person inside of your body. Try to keep a good attitude and recognize that the discomfort is temporary. You are almost there. Your little one will come out to meet you soon!

Men should be LUCKY they have us women. See everything above that we go through and we are so very sweet and innocent and never bitch or complain about it at all. Women are true super heroes :-D

Have a great weekend!
