Ben is now 7 months old, has two teeth has started crawling a week ago. We've had lots of sickness in our family since Christmas time. I'm out of sick time I can take at work. Ben was really sick the first of February, he was on only Pedialyte for 5 days shortly after that we had a slight adolecent arthritis scare with Zachary. We had him in the doctor and they ended up ordering lab work and x-rays. Thankfully everything is alright. Let me back up a little bit and get caught up on everyone.
Ben, at his 6 month check up he was 26 1/2 inches and weighted 19.2 lbs. He his height was in the 80th percentile and his weight in the mid 90's. His bottom two teeth came in the first of December when he was 4 months old and his top two teeth have cut through his gums and you can feel a little bit of tooth. I can't wait for them to come through. After he felt better from his Februrary bought with the flu he started crawling. We rearranged our living room in order to make more crawling space for him. Right now he is doing the army crawl and at times will get up on all 4's and dart across the room.
He is on all types of food now and even drinking 2 ounces of apple juice (mixed with 2 ounces of nursery water) a day. He loves the teething bisquits which of course make a major mess. I can't stand seeing a dirty kid so it sort of gives me anxiety and then I have to keep cleaning his hands so he doesn't get his highchair dirty. I know kids are messy.
He's starting to jibber also. He's saying "mum-mum and daa-daa" we assume he's reffering to us but he's still too young to really talk. He is most defiently a momma's boy. When I come home from work I hear "mum-mum, mum-mum" and he starts shaking his entire body and either crawls right to me or practicly jumps out of Mike's arms to get to me. If I have to go to the other room before I get a chance to see him first he starts crying.
We are going shopping tomorrow for the big boy car seat. It makes me feel so sad to get rid of the carrier. I have put it off for too long because I want him to stay my baby. The switch to the rear facing big boy seat is the first big step to him growing up. Can we please keep our baby a baby!
Zachary is doing really well in school. He's starting to read although he doesn't like to admit it to us. I don't understand why. He's been playing Upward Bound basketball since the fist weekend in January. He did a great job. I was so proud of him. He had his last game today and an awards banquet is scheduled for Monday evening.
Zachary has three loose teeth, but he won't let us check them out, he's worried we will pull them out. (Not true.) Poor guy has been sick the past few months also. It seems like he always gets the stomach bug and when he does he's done for more than 24 hours, more like an entire week. He missed two days of school this past week because of a high temp of 102 and like I mentioned above the adolecent arthritis scare. The reason why his doctor wanted him to be checked out was because I told her he had been running temps of 100 or more every night for 2 weeks. We'd treat with Tylenol and then he'd wake up and be fine, so we'd send him to school. During all of this he also started telling us his chest hurt, his legs, arms and hips also hurt. The doctor said he's too young for growing pains so she asked to get a full lab work up. It took me and two other nurses to hold him down to get his blood drawn. I have to give props to the phlebotomist, he did a great job. Everything is alright, thank goodness.
